Residents of the South East Queensland suburbs found their usual evening routine interrupted when gunfire broke out near a popular local venue. The incident, which took place on a Saturday night, resulted in four people being shot and transported to hospital for treatment. While the immediate danger has passed, the event has left a lasting impression on the local community, which is still processing the sudden violence.

Queensland police responded to the call at 8:15 pm on Saturday evening. Officers were dispatched to a licensed premises in Loganholme after receiving reports of shots fired from a moving vehicle. Upon arrival, the police observed the suspect vehicle leaving the area. The four individuals injured in the drive-by shooting were taken to a local hospital, where medical staff assessed their conditions. As of the latest updates, the victims are under care.

The venue, Fitzys Loganholme located on Bryants Road, was preparing to host the Logan City Titles Fight Night. The event was intended to be a celebration of local boxing talent. Chris Stream, a deputy commander with the Queensland police, described the scene upon arrival as confronting. He noted that several individuals sustained gunshot wounds during the attack. The timing of the shooting, just as the event was underway, added to the sense of shock among attendees and staff.

Jon Raven, the mayor of Logan, highlighted the emotional impact the incident has had on the neighborhood. He stated that residents were frightened by the events. Raven told the Today show that the area had never experienced an incident of this nature before. He expressed his support for the victims, the venue staff, and everyone present at the fight night. Raven noted that he had attended similar events in the past and found them to be family-friendly environments, often filled with children.

The mayor emphasized that the shooting would have a profound effect on the community, particularly the younger attendees. He remarked that the experience would likely impact them for the rest of their lives. Raven explained that the night was organized with the specific goal of steering children away from violence. He said the event organizer uses boxing as a tool to empower and reconnect young people who might be struggling. Raven described the situation as the opposite of what the organizer intended, noting that the organizer would be devastated by the turn of events.

In a statement released on Sunday morning, the Logan City Titles team expressed their heartbreak over the incident. The organizers described the event as a community gathering designed to showcase local talent, hard work, and skill inside the ring. They stated that such incidents have no place in the boxing community or the broader society. The statement served as a public acknowledgment of the disruption and the emotional toll on those involved in the promotion.

Police have confirmed that the offenders remain at large. Authorities have indicated that they do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the public. Investigators are urging anyone with information about the shooting to come forward and contact them. The search for the suspects continues as officials work to piece together the sequence of events that led to the drive-by shooting outside the venue.
